- Alice Lochley for Emmy Magazine
Paul Feig is talking a lot about it, so it seems like it's definitely happening. No news yet if Alice and Rayna will be back for the sequel, but we certainly hope so!!
I love collaborating with my director. Developing Reyna with Paul [Feig, director] was like a dream. I think they originally wrote the role for a spoiled brat of a teenager, but they offered me the part anyway once they knew I was available. She was so different from pretty much anyone I've ever played, and oh god was it fun to play in that villainy. She was such a heightened version of any rea villain, and it was just so fun to riff with Paul and Melissa. I originally tried to impart a French accent on her, but Paul thought I sounded too much like Pepe Le Pew. Rude. [laughs] No, it just didn't fit with the character. We went to a Russian accent, but then I did a heightened snobby British accent, and he just started laughing. Getting a laugh from a guy like Paul is an amazing feeling. They made a lot of changes once we started to play with her as a character. It was so fun to really play with her from the ground up like that.
